Endocrine System: Pituitary Gland
The Anterior Pituitary gland or adenohypohyphysis produces a variety of trophic hormones. Once thought to be the "master gland", we now know that the adenohypophysis is regulated by the hypothalamus. The neurohypophysis is the posterior pituitary gland. It stores two hormones produced by the hypothalamus, ADH and Oxytocin. The posterior pituitary consists largely fo neural endings.
